French star Renan Luce is to marry his Lolita
Millions of French girls will this week be heartbroken at the news that popular singer Renan Luce is to wed.
The 29-year-old star has proposed to Lolita Séchan – the stunning daughter of controversial French singer Renaud Séchan.
Renan’s massive hits include Les Voisines and La Lettre, showcasing his genius for clever lyrics and storytelling as well as catchy melodies and brilliant music videos.
News of the engagement was broken at the weekend by Lolita’s uncle.
Renan’s songs are inspired by the 20th century singer and songwriter Georges Brassens and depict everyday life with a dose of humour and poetry.
He was born in Paris but grew up in Plourin-les-Morlaix, Brittany (near Morlaix, in the Finistere).
He began his musical career with his brother Damien and his sister Claire in a choir; afterwards he debuted classical piano at the conservatory of Brest, then at Saint-Brieuc. He then mastered the saxophone and also taught himself the guitar by composing his first songs.
After two years of preparatory classes in Rennes (at Saint-Vincent), where he performed in bars and at a few festivals, he was admitted to a leading school of commerce in Toulouse, South West France.
In September 2006 Renan released his first album Repenti, comprising 13 tracks and three live versions.
